Dr. Greg Mowry, Founder and CTO of SYNCRIS, is a distinguished leader in sustainable energy solutions. With a background in Metallurgical Engineering from Iowa State University (ISU) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Physics from the University of Minnesota, Greg's 25-year industry tenure includes roles at Hewlett Packard, Seagate Technology, and Boston Scientific, where he excelled as an inventor, R&D scientist, and engineer. Greg's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found several startups, further enriching his industry experience. 

After decades in industry, Greg moved to academia, attaining full professorship at the University of St. Thomas (UST). There, he spearheaded the MSEE power program and founded the University of St. Thomas Center for Microgrid Research in 2020. His research focuses on reliable microgrids, alternative energy systems, and power electronics. 

Greg's innovative work has led to 40 patents, multiple pending patents, and publications across technical fields. Internationally recognized for his work in microgrids, Greg's development of scalable microgrid technologies with distributed intelligence management systems forms the core technologies commercialized by SYNCRIS. 

Zachary Emond, Founder and COO of SYNCRIS has been instrumental in co-developing several fundamental patents critical to SYNCRIS' unique technology. Alongside Dr. Greg Mowry, Zach founded SYNCRIS in 2019 to lead innovation in renewable energy and distributed energy resources. Zach holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of St. Thomas (UST) in St. Paul, Minnesota, specializing in power systems and microgrids.

Zach's contributions extend well beyond patent development. He has presented on SYNCRIS' technology at IEEE conferences, participated in accelerator work with Haliburton Labs, and fostered critical partnerships pivotal to SYNCRIS' growth. His expertise includes research in scalable renewable microgrids, non-linear dynamics in electrical systems, and leveraging biomimicry for innovative problem-solving.

Jina Penn-Tracy, Co-founder and Board Chair at SYNCRIS, brings over 20 years of expertise in sustainable investing to her role. With a business degree specifically focused on sustainability and innovation, Jina's career has been dedicated to advocating for responsible and impactful investment strategies that align with environmental stewardship.

Jina's commitment to driving positive change through sustainable finance aligns seamlessly with SYNCRIS' mission to revolutionize the energy sector with innovative solutions. Jina's dedication to sustainability was highlighted when she was invited to speak at Climate Week, where she shared insights on the importance of sustainable investment practices in combating climate change. 

As Board Chair at SYNCRIS, Jina leverages her expertise and leadership to guide the company towards a greener future. She advocates for the integration of sustainability principles into every aspect of the organization's operations. 

Scott Tracy, Co-founder and CEO of SYNCRIS, is a tenacious leader with a rich background in corporate governance. His tenure at Tetra Tech Inc. as an Operations Manager/Senior Program Manager showcased his ability to drive growth and manage complex operations across multiple states. This oversight often included managing environmental services for large-scale renewable energy projects.

With over a decade of executive experience, Scott has also held key positions such as Vice President at Bay West LLC and Braun lntertec Corporation, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership in driving business growth and sustainability initiatives.

As the former Board President of Real & Renewable, Scott led efforts to advance renewable energy implementation through community-scale projects and industry innovation. 

With a proven track record of success in executive roles, Scott  brings a wealth of experience and strategic vision to his role as CEO of SYNCRIS, driving innovation and sustainable growth in the energy sector.
